THREE INGREDIENT BUTTERMILK BISCUITS

If you'll follow this simple recipe and a few easy tips, you'll have light and fluffy biscuits every time!

Ingredients

2 cups self rising flour
1 stick salted butter, cold
1 cup buttermilk

Directions

Preheat oven to 450F.

In a large bowl, add flour. Using a cheese grater, shred butter into flour. Stir occasionally to keep butter cold and from clumping together. Reserve 1 tablespoon of butter and set aside.

Stir flour and butter making sure everything is mixed together with no clumps.

Create a well in flour mixture and pour the buttermilk into the center of the well. Stir sides of the bowl just until the dough comes together. Turn dough onto a floured surface.

Using your floured hands, gently bring the dough together and pat into a rectangle. Gently take one end of the dough and fold over the other. Pat into another rectangle and repeat this process five times. Add sprinkling of flour as needed, but try not to use too much because that will create a tough biscuit.

Pat dough to 3/4 inch thick. Cut biscuits into desired shape. Do not twist dough cutter. Place biscuits close together into skillet or cake pan.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until light golden brown. Top with remaining butter.
