Great Plague of 1665 at Museum of London

Описание к видео Great Plague of 1665 at Museum of London

All towns and villages within a 10 mile radius of London were affected to some degree by the Great Plague of 1665. Official figures suggest there were about 68,000 people who died,
but it was probably far more than that, around 100,000 at least; about a fifth of the population of the country. In our collection and on display at Museum of London is a 17th Century plague bell which would have been used in the streets to warn passes by that the corpse of a plague victim was approaching.

The Museum of London is closing the doors of its London Wall site in December 2022 and will open a brand new museum at West Smithfield in 2025. So don't miss your last chance to visit the historic London Wall site and view the collections before it's too late!
