A rejuvenated Bertie Fisher was proving to be the man to beat in 1996 as he eyed up a fourth Irish Tarmac Championship. The works F2 teams from Ford, Nissan, VW and particularly Renault put up a fight but even a brush with the scenery on Sunday morning couldn’t prevent Fisher dominating the event as the ToughMac Subaru reigned supreme.
