Mr. Beveridge's Maggot (simplified version)

On Saturday, 21st September, 2013, the Telheiras Scottish Country Dance Group performed six country dances at the "Olhar Carnide" festival in Carnide, Lisbon. Three were old dances from the 18th and 19th centuries and three were modern dances. This was the first, an old English country dance called Mr. Beveridge's Maggot. It would normally be done in a never-ending set but we chose to do it in two mini-sets of two couples. This version of the dance is also a simplified one, as it was done (apparently anachronistically) in the TV series Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth.
