Ep1. Build a Frame For DIY Fish Pond

Описание к видео Ep1. Build a Frame For DIY Fish Pond

This is the first video of how to build a garden pond in my 'Backyard Garden Pond' series and I am planning to build entire fish pond from treated pine timber. I have used 2x4 or 90x45mm wood to build a frame for the backyard pond which covers all the 4 sides. For the base of the fish pond, I have used 200x50mm treated pine sleepers. To make the fish pond more appealing and add beauty to backyard I have decided to add a glass viewing window to the pond. Glass window will be facing the house so fish in the pond can be seen from the inside of the house.

At this stage I haven't decided if I will be turning it into a goldfish pond or add some native Australian pond fish. However, your suggestion in the comment section will help me in making this tough decision. Garden pond will be followed by some modern landscape of the backyard with some water fall, decking, plants etc., Detailed and step by step article on how to build a garden pond can be found on my blog https://www.fishaholic.net/2021/09/di.... If you are interested in do it yourself projects then this series might be for you.

Even though I have tried to keep this built cheap, it still cost me quite a lot as sourcing timber these days is not cheap and the screws are expensive too. Melbourne weather is very unpredictable and most of the time it wasn't in my favor. This is not the best garden pond in the backyard but I have put in quite a lot of hours and energy into building this pond. I really hope you will enjoy this video and might inspire some of you to build your own above ground fish pond.
