Snowboarding Mt St Helens in May // Splitboarding

Описание к видео Snowboarding Mt St Helens in May // Splitboarding

Mt St Helens is an iconic volcano in the PNW. The snowpack was starting to melt so we decided to take advantage of a wonderful sunny weekend. Calvin Max and I hit the Road at 6 a.m. and got to the lot by 9 a.m. There was plenty of snow at the parking lot which allowed us to skin from the car.

The sun was shining all day and the high got to around 60 degrees. Sunscreen was used aggressively and we sacrificed comfort for sun protection and wore out long sleeves. After a few breaks and a little more that 5.5 hours of splkitboarding, we made it to the summit. From the top we could easily see Mt Rainier, Mt Adams, and Mt Hood. After soaking in the views and having a snack we transitioned to board mode and started the descent.

Snowboarding on a volcano in May is just epic. we follow the worm tubes which is where the lava flowed post erruption. There was amazing corn and fun features a plenty. We partied the whole thing and only had to un strap in a couple spots. All in all it was straight epic.
