Carnatic Music Prodigy Impresses Shankar Mahadevan | Rahul Vellal | BYJU’S Young Genius

Meet BYJU’S Young Genius Rahul Vellal! Rahul was barely two and a half years old when he could perfectly repeat all the songs played at home and his first-ever stage performance was when he was only six and a half years old.

For Rahul, learning music is a stress buster and he has mastered singing in six languages. The 14-year-old has performed at over 60 concerts across India and the globe and has won prizes in several musical competitions. He won the ‘Global Child Prodigy Award 2020’ in the Music Category and received the Shanmukhananda M S Subbulakshmi Fellowship 2018 for Carnatic Vocal.
Rahul was awarded the Aalap Appreciation Award instituted by Kappanna Angala and presented by Former Chief Justice of India, Sri M Venkatachaliah in 2019, in recognition of his praiseworthy accomplishments in the field of Classical Music.
