Meet BYJU’S Young Genius Jui Keskar. This 15-year-old from Pune is an international award-winning innovator and creator of the JTremor-3D device, a specially-designed glove that helps measure tremors in Parkinson’s patients and sends the data to the doctors.

Jui grew up in a joint family where she saw her uncle battling Parkinson’s disease for around eight years. Her uncle had undergone deep brain stimulation surgery where a pacemaker was installed and needed to be tuned regularly. But the astute 15-year-old noted something important: “you can’t control what you can’t measure.” This inspired the 15-year-old to develop the JTremor-3D glove.

The young innovator has won a The Science Seed Award at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, USA 2021, presented by the Shanghai Youth Science Education Fair. She also won the third prize grand Award at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, USA, the same year. She is also a recipient of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam National Award for Innovation and Creativity in 2020.

Jui’s role model is Nobel Prize winner Marie Curie, the struggles and hardships she had to go through, despite which she made such a huge impact in science and on human lives, is what inspires Jui the most. “Look for problems around you and start solving them” - that’s Jui’s motto!

Watch as the young innovator explains why exploration, research and time management are important for innovation as she details her efforts to make her invention a household name in the near future.

Jui is one of the special select few to be featured on the second season of the televised show BYJU’S Young Genius, a News 18 Initiative that showcases young prodigies from across India, who have the promise and the potential to become future superstars.
