Invictus Africa team reviews the biopic, "Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti"

The Invictus Africa team recently gathered to watch the inspiring biopic of Olufunmilayo Ransome-Kuti, a powerful historical figure who did much more than being the first woman to drive a car, a feat worth celebrating.

From her childhood experiences that shaped her into the strong woman she became to her passion for demanding better economic conditions for women in her community, leading to fearlessly confronting the power of the day, Funmilayo’s life story of courage transcends generations. She showed us that there is no such thing as a 'mere' woman except one who is not empowered. Empowering women can be as simple as encouraging them to say NO.

As we reflected on the film, we couldn’t help but discuss the powerful yet relatable themes that emerged. We documented our thoughts on the biopic, and it is worth watching.

Massive kudos to Bolanle Austen-peters, as well as the cast and crew of the Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti biopic. This movie is a masterpiece!
