Go to Kovilur at a distance of 32 km on Dindigul-Karur road and 5 km on the road to R. kombai. there, 1.5 km east of Nayakkanur, Chittoor. At a distance of m you can reach the foothills of the Samy hill temple. You can easily reach the foothills on two-wheelers. There is road facility for four wheeler vehicles till Naikkanur. The base can be reached by walking in 20 minutes. As these mountain ranges are under the control of the Tamil Nadu Forest Department, one should travel only on the permitted route and follow the rules. Arrow marks are drawn on the stones starting from the base and up to the temple. If you start walking from the foothills, you can reach Kumbaipuli Karuppasamy temple in about 30 minutes.

Steep ridges and deep ravines alternate continuously. Crossing two hills you will find a sloping area covered with tarp grass. An ancient Shiva temple of more than 1000 years ago is very simply located in the open air. In front of the Shiva Lingam is a beautiful Nandi idol. Its right term is seen in raised position. It is Siddha's opinion that sitting in this place and thinking to meditate on the sun art known as right nostril breathing is beneficial.
