Mallayapuram malleeswarar hill temple located in mallayapuram village, athoor, dindigul district. In foothills, there is same malleeswarar temple situated as "suyambu lingam". Its most dangerous trekking, there is no trails for trekking, there is no water up there. women are not allowed this trekking since ancient period. From the sea level 4000 feet height we have to trek. without guide, its not possible to go up there. you have finished the breakfast and take lunch for your own at dindigul and take atleast 5 litres of water per head. must take the bamboo stick for trek the downhill and uphill is so slippery. buses are minimal for this route. if you come along car or bike its better, from mallayapuram bus stop to foothill temple is 2 kms and foothill temple to trekking starting point is 3 kms you have to reach.

Forest department permission is essential for trekking, Its coming under palani reserve forest. ALL wild animals like wild boar, elephant, tiger, leopards, etc. is there.
