Frankenweenie - MR R 'teaches' lightning - Early Storyboard Animatic

This is an early storyboard produced during the production of Frankenweenie. At this point there were a few rough character drawings but little had been designed so my job was to design as I went. Interestingly the rough design I made for Weird girl ultimately became the design for Elsa. The Mayor looks a lot like this version I did for Mr.Rzykruski but I couldn't say for certain whether it was adapted in some small way.
This scene introduces the unusual science teacher Mr.R to Victor and his class mates. The students are also a little strange as is their hometown of New Holland. This version shows Mr.R to be aslightly less aggressive personality than the final characterisation voiced by Martin Landau.
