The Legend of Tembo (2012) - MarketPlace - Storyboard Animatic

This is animatic was created from production boards and is representative of how it may have looked in the final film.
Young Tembo has been taken to China along with his brother, Kitchaa (a bird who believes he is an elephant). He arrives at a Chinese port and is dragged through a scary marketplace full of caged animals to be sold to a work camp.
The Legend of Tembo was to be a CG animated feature directed by Aaron Blaise about an African elephant taken by traders to be used as a weapon of war.
There were two versions of this movie during production. One version saw Tembo being taken to India from his African home. The second version saw Tembo arrive in China. This decision was largely taken due to new funding for the project coming from China and so was less a story decision as a production one. Unfortunately the movie never made it to the cinema screen and was cancelled abruptly mid production.
