This is a piece that emphasizes the beauty of power in Chinese classical dance. The use of the fan and sharp movements illustrates the command and elegance of a Chinese military general. Stefanie is also one of Cal Wushu’s members, and through this piece, she is able to depict the magnificence of both art forms. Welcome, Stefanie, to the battleground!

“Wu” represents the connection between Chinese dance & Chinese martial arts — 舞（wǔ）means dance & 武 （wǔ）means martial arts.

UC Berkeley Fei Tian Dancers (FTD), Cal Wushu, and Cal VSA Lion Dance presented a joint end-of-the-semester showcase for the Spring 2022 Semester! Similar to our previous Fall 2021 joint showcase, “Wu” showcased a wide range of Chinese dance & martial arts performances, celebrating cultural diversity & sharing our hard work throughout the semester.
