This channel is intended for inexperienced beginning amateur astronomers and is intended to provide practical advice and information - along with encouragement and inspiration - to beginners to assist in passing through the learning curve associated with becoming an amateur astronomer.

This video is an overview of the different types of objects in the night sky. It begins with a brief discussion of stars and then continues with segments about constellations, asterisms, the moon, the planets, nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters.

These objects are defined and advice is given as to the best methods and times to view these objects, and the problem of viewing and imaging deep sky objects (DSOs) in light polluted skies is addressed.
