Tunisian Crochet Flat Socks

Описание к видео Tunisian Crochet Flat Socks

I cracked the code and figured out how to make 2 needle knit socks with Tunisian Crochet by using an elastic stitch band and a stretchy return pass. This is something I have been trying to figure out for a long time and now that I have I am so excited to make socks that are quick and easy, soft, stretchy and adorable! This has also opened up a lot of other possibilities for me as I continue to try to make knit items with Tunisian Crochet. Stay tuned, I see a lot of wearables in our future.

Okay, where to start with all the links I promised!

Let's start with supplies:

This is my Denise Love 2 Crochet Tunisian Hook set. I really love it, it's light-weight and plastic is smooth and doesn't catch on anything. It has all the little accessories you need to make bigger items and also work in the round. It's a great starter set.

This is a great regular crochet hook set that is inexpensive and has great reviews. For this project, it is totally okay to use regular aluminum hooks because they are straight and you can do Tunisian work on them. It's a small piece of fabric so you don't need the extenders. If you aren't ready to plunge into the Tunisian hook set yet, this is a great alternative that gives you everything you need.

You can really use any sock yarn on this project which is a size 2 fingering weight (sometimes a size 1 but only if it's on the larger side). The yarn I used is called Yarn Bee Color Idyll and the color is Orange-ology. You can find it at Hobby Lobby and they discount their yarn every other week. It is not available on Amazon, so here is what I found that seems closest.

Patons sock yarn is just a well known brand that is washable and has similar fibers to what I used and there are lots of colors to choose from

I have not personally used this yarn but it has great reviews and lots of solid colors to choose from which is sometimes hard to find in sock yarn. It's a little spendier than Patons but you get a lot more yarn at over 400 yards per skein which is probably enough for 2 pairs of socks
