Trade opportunities and challenges in 2024 for the food and drink sector

Описание к видео Trade opportunities and challenges in 2024 for the food and drink sector

Food and drink is the UK’s largest manufacturing sector and is leading the way for the country’s exports, with international sales reaching record numbers in the first half of 2023, according to figures from the Food and Drink Federation (FDF).

However, food and drink businesses continue to face a changing regulatory environment post-Brexit, which is posing both challenges and opportunities. On the one hand, they are facing a new range of checks and processes this year under the UK government’s Border Target Operating Model. On the other hand, the UK’s new free trade agreements could open up new export markets.

In a free webinar hosted by the Institute of Export & International Trade in partnership with key sector bodies, a panel of experts and business leaders in the industry give an overview of the trade challenges and opportunities that are ahead in 2024.

The panel will feature:

- Host: William Barns-Graham – executive editor at IOE&IT
- Laura Williams - trade and customs consultant at IOE&IT
- James Beringer – corporate affairs and trade policy executive at the Food and Drink Federation
- Ian Mace – head of government affairs and policy at Associated British Foods
- Tee Sandhu – director and co-founder at SamosaCo and a member of the Food and Drink Export Council
- Katrina Walsh – strategy director at the International Meat Trade Association
