Diwali on the Square - A universal festival of joy

We asked Londoners what Diwali means to them and got many different answers. The most popular story traditionally celebrates the homecoming of a king and queen to their home country but there are many reasons to mark the beginning of darker days with lights and music.

Some were taken to the Diwali on the Square by friends, some drawn as they loved their holidays to India. Some liked the music or the dance of this celebration in London's heart has become a pan-Indian culture party happening once a year.
