The Delphi Murders | A Catfishing Killer

The unsolved murders of Liberty German and Abigail Williams have disturbed and shocked the nation. They are known as the Delphi Murders. This double homicide occurred in 2017, but it is still unsolved. Police have renewed their efforts and released new information to the public to help finally solve this cold case.

In 2017, Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, hiked the Monon High Bridge Trail in Delphi, Indiana. They took photos as they crossed an old rail bridge, and two of these images were uploaded to Snapchat. Then, they recorded a video, which gave police their best lead to the killer: audio and video evidence.

A search party organized by Sheriff Leazanby and the Indiana Police Department began that evening, but the bodies of the two girls weren't found until the next day, February 14, 2017. Details about the scene have been withheld, but investigators were disturbed by what they found.

Police investigators released clips of the audio and video footage to the public. A composite sketch was released, and tips began to flood in which uncovered a seedy underbelly in the community. A self-identified inside source spoke out from a fake Facebook account under the name "Leigh Kerr." This individual provided the Delphi Murder leaks and released new information on the case; however, these details haven't been corroborated.

Many persons of interest have been named in this case: Charles Eldridge, James Chadwell, and Paul Etter. Recently, one person of interest, Kegan Anthony Kline, was uncovered as a catfishing predator, using fake Snapchat and Instagram accounts under the name "anthony_shots." He used these accounts to solicit explicit images and meetups with underage victims.

However, Kline is not believed to be the perpetrator of the Delphi murders. Police do not believe he is a person of interest. As of 2022, they are looking for information from anyone who interacted with Kline's fake accounts. Will it lead to solving the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German?
