Chapter 75: The Conquest of Mecca (Part 2)
1. The Prophet SAW rides around the Kabah and destroys the 360 idols surrounding it.
2. Prophet SAW reinstates the watering of the pilgrims to the Hashim family, and keeper of the keys to Uthman ibn Talha RA and his generations to come.
3. Usama RA, Bilal RA and the Prophet SAW unlock and enter the Kabah and destroy the paintings of all deities except for that of Ibrahim AS, and an icon of Mary AS and Isa AS.
4. All idols including hubal are ordered to be destroyed and burned, in addition to the idols in people’s houses.
5. Abu Quhafah and Quraybah, father and sister of Abu Bakr RA come and accept islam.
6. On mount Safa, all his enemies came to accept islam, including Hind RA.
7. Prophet SAW sends Khalid RA to Nakhlah to destroy al uzza and return and he does so. The Prophet SAW asks him of anything unusual to which he replies no and so sends him back saying the job is incomplete. When Khalid RA returns to Nakhlah, he sees a black naked woman coming from the temple who he slays, now completing his job.
8. Umm Hakim RA, wife of ikrimah also intercedes for her husband’s pardon, and the Prophet SAW accepts. Ikrimah who tried to run away to Abyssinia by boat has islam enter his heart and comes back a muslim when the captain, for fear of shipwreck, would not permit him to enter unless he says the words la illaha illallah, the same words which he tried to run away from.
9. Suhayl’s son AbdAllah intercedes for him and the Prophet SAW grants it for him to stay and live in Makkah safely.
10. Safwan’s cousin Umayr RA gets him 2 months respite but finds him trying to leave. After which the Prophet SAW promises his safety and grants him 4 months respite and stay in Mecca.
