In this video, we explain how to derive a controllable canonical state-space form of a dynamical system. In this form, the state-space model is controllable. This form is also called reachable canonical form and control canonical form. The controllable canonical form is important since it can be used to easily assign the closed-loop poles of a dynamical system with very little computational effort. Also, in this video, we explain how to derive a block diagram of the controllable canonical state-space model.
