Fisher Celebrity July 2024 Extendo Cut

Описание к видео Fisher Celebrity July 2024 Extendo Cut

Music- and voiceover-free mix of GoPro footage from a few days in July 2024 flying my Fisher Celebrity biplane around central Minnesota. I'm still a very green tailwheel pilot (53.5 hours,) and squarely in the 'killing zone' with just shy of 300 hours total time, 42.2 of which are in this airframe. I feel like I'm beginning to get a feel for the Celebrity, but the footage of my bounced landings in Pine River and East Gull Lake show that I have more work to do. My stated goal is to fly this airplane 100 hours before I store it for winter, and hopefully to complete a flight that will satisfy the long commercial solo cross-country requirement.

The airplane was handbuilt by a gentleman in Wisconsin and first registered in 1995. It has a steel tube fuselage, wood wings, and fabric covering. The engine is a 115 hp Lycoming O-235-L2C swinging a 72 x 48 inch Sensenich propeller. It cruises around 80 MPH indicated airspeed and flies similar to a 100hp Cub. Over the past winter, I designed and fabricated the taller and wider landing gear, installed an alternator and lightweight lithium battery, constructed a carbon fiber instrument panel, upgraded the intercom and radio, rewired the airframe, and more.
