Masha (Маша), the younger cousin, visits her older sister Vera (Вера) and asks who lives in the building. Vera explains that her friends, a couple with a cat, live on the second floor, and an elderly woman with two dogs lives on the third. Masha asks about a man who greeted them near the pond, and Vera thinks he lives next door. Vera also mentions an elderly athlete who runs in the park. Masha then asks about twin boys who visit their aunt on the fifth floor. Finally, Masha inquires about a young woman.
