MOUNTUNE BOOST HOSE UPGRADE KIT INSTALL! | FOCUS RS

The time has come for more custard!

This is the latest performance mod that I have done to my Ford Focus RS MK3 and it is the performance boost hose upgrade from Mountune and made by Samco!

This seems like a good step no-matter what stage I (or anyone) is at in the process of modding / adding some extra power to the Ford Focus RS. The Mountune kit is not only excellent quality but also looks great and is Ford approved so will not affect the vehicle base warranty!

I did the Mountune hard pipe upgrade a while back as an easy add on mod when I was doing the Mountune recirc valve and now that I am looking forward to doing the intercooler upgrade soon, doing the boot pipe upgrade makes sense. When I was doing the hard pipe originally I also saw that there was some dirty oil in the pipes which I have resolved the source of with my recently installed Radium CCV side catch can install so now I can be happy that these new boost pipes will remain nice and clean!

Another 2 benefits are the simplification and de-restriction of the connection into the bottom of the throttle body and also hot side Mountune boost hoses are Nomex lined to make them able to withstand higher temps the likes that can be sign in higher boost situations!

I show the process of removing the stock pipes as well as undertray and plastic splash guard and then how to install the new Mountune boost pipes, starting with the small pipe from the turbo, then the medium sized pipe into the intercooler and then the biggest pipe from the intercooler to throttle body.

The installation wasn't too difficult and the pipes look great and lead into the next mods nicely!
