Solo Backpacking the High Country Pathway - Day 2

Описание к видео Solo Backpacking the High Country Pathway - Day 2

Day 2, I awoke, following a thunderstorm overnight, packed my gear and headed 22.1 miles from my dispersed camp location to the Canada Creek Shelter. Shortly after leaving camp would be my first obstacle... crossing Pigeon River without a bridge, just before arriving at Pine Grove State Forest Campground. Near Dog Lake I came across a snapping turtle (I think!) and took a break to watch him and refuel. The ferns on the trail had started to drive me crazy and upon arriving to the shelter, the rain arrived. The hike was long, but enjoyable... I encountered different environments throughout the day, and I couldn't be more thankful for the volunteers who put in countless hours making it possible for people like me to enjoy it. A truly magical and wild part of Michigan. Thanks for watching!
