6-13-2024 - Glenwood Springs, CO to Junction City, KS

Thursday, June 13, 2024, driving from Glenwood Springs, CO to Junction City, KS. This is the first of two days driving out to Indianapolis, IN to watch the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials and to participate in the U.S. Masters Swimming Spring Nationals. From Glenwood Springs to Indianapolis, the entire trip is along I-70. I would have liked to have taken the sports car, but it was a good idea that I took the FJ due to the weather that I ran into. On this drive there was a major set of thunderstorms that I ran into just before getting to Junction City, KS. The severe thunderstorm warnings included reports of Ping-Pong ball sized hail. So, I stopped to let the storms pass and ended up backtracking a couple of miles to ensure that I stayed out of the heart of the storms.
