On January 4, 2009, Nashwad Johnson was found shot dead in a bamboo patch off a Georgia highway. A jury convicted two of his fellow Eight Trey Crips gang members of the killing. The Eight Trey Crips is a Brooklyn-based street gang engaged in drug trafficking and violence, including murder, in furtherance of its criminal enterprise. According to prosecutors, Rodney Muschette, a.k.a., stitch loak, murdered Johnson on New Year's Eve at the direction of Maliek Ramsey, a.k.a., squingey, in retaliation for cooperating against gang leader, Larry Pagett, a.k.a., biz loak. Biz loak is the big 8 trey crip. Anthony Braithwaite, also a member of the Eight Trey Crips at the time, began dealing drugs and committing robberies with Stitch and Squingey around September 2007 and was present for the murder. ., crill gates, another member of the Eight Trey Crips, also took the stand for the prosecution, to explain the history of Johnson's cooperation and the gang's awareness of it.
