Handel på Hötorget (1913) - Remastered 4K 60fps

Hötorget in Stockholm has been a market place since the 1600's, but on January 1, 1914, all market trade in Hötorget with fresh, raw meat from cattle, sheep, pigs or horses was banned for sanitary reasons. Many of the food vendors then moved to the various market halls like Hötorgshallen and the Central Market Hall.
These films were shot in the winter of 1913, just before the ban.

The footage has been remastered to 4K 60 frames per second using various AI and software. Sound has been carefully added manually for ambiance and finally the images has been colorized using AI to present this time travel experience.
This is an artistic interpretation of the original footage and is by no means intended to replace the original film and its historical value. The color and sound is NOT historically accurate and it is added for ambiance.
