[music playing]

[voice over] From work to play, your iPhone is a big part of your everyday life. Now, make it a part of all those miles in between with Apple CarPlay.

CarPlay puts parts of your iPhone right on your Uconnect touchscreen. Send texts and make phone calls without reaching for your iPhone. Listen to podcasts, audio books and Apple Music. And get where you want to go with Apple Maps while your iPhone is safely tucked-away.

No extra app is needed to use CarPlay but you will need to unlock your iPhone the first time you use CarPlay.

[Text on screen] Use certified USB cables for optimal results.

[voice over] Just plug your iPhone into your vehicle’s USB port, then keep your eye on the Phone icon in your Uconnect touchscreen. When that icon changes to the CarPlay icon, you’ll know your iPhone is connected. You’ll now be able to use your iPhone via Siri or through the Uconnect touchscreen.
And there are so many ways CarPlay can make your driving experience easier and more fun. Let’s say you want some pizza. Simply press - and hold - the VR button. You’ll hear from Siri.

[SFX] Beep

[Driver’s Voice] Show me the best places to get pizza in Royal Oak, MI.

[voice over] Then, pick a spot, and Siri will get you there.

[Text on screen] Third-Party apps must support hands-free operation to be used with CarPlay.

[voice over] CarPlay also gives you access to 3rd party audio apps you’ve downloaded to your iPhone, like Pandora or iHeartRadio.

To prevent CarPlay from launching automatically when your iPhone is connected, go to the Apps page, then Projection Manager, and uncheck Smartphone Device Mirroring. To turn this feature back on, simply check the box again.

And, the Auto Play feature automatically plays music from your iPhone whenever it’s connected. You can turn it on or off in the Audio category of your Uconnect Settings.

If you’re playing music on your iPhone before you enter your CarPlay vehicle, the music will continue as soon as you connect the device to the USB port - even if Auto Play is not enabled.

One more thing - and this goes out to anyone who plays music from their mobile device - Uconnect lets you make calls on a USB-connected phone while a Bluetooth-connected device simultaneously feeds audio to the system. You can be ready to take your calls and let the music play.

Keep in mind, Apple CarPlay uses your iPhone’s data plan and some additional charges may apply. For best performance and compatibility, make sure your iOS is up-to-date. Also, you must be in an area with cellular coverage to use data-dependent CarPlay features.

So sit back and get the most out of your iPhone… on the go!… with Apple CarPlay and Uconnect.
