College students will have to rely on two important life skills – resiliency and adaptability – as they return to campus amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Shawna D. Nesbitt, Associate Dean at UT Southwestern, and Pamela McNulty, Director of Pre-Health Advising at SMU, share strategies to help students adjust as the fall semester begins.

Shawna D. Nesbitt, M.D., UT Southwestern
Dr. Shawna D. Nesbitt is an Associate Dean of UT Southwestern’s Office of Student Diversity and Inclusion and has been advising medical students as they return to learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Nesbitt is also Medical Director of Parkland’s Hypertension Clinic, specializing in diagnosis, treatment, and research related to blood-pressure disorders.

Pamela McNulty, M.S., M.T. (ASCP), SMU
Pamela McNulty is the Director of Pre-Health Advising at Southern Methodist University in Dallas and is a board-certified medical technologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Ms. McNulty has held numerous positions in the medical field and is providing guidance to pre-professional students at SMU as they return to campus amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
