“I feel it’s fashion’s responsibility to do a little bit to bring people’s spirits up,” said Donatella Versace during the preview of her Spring 2025 collection, a celebration of optimism and bold expression. Set against the stunning backdrop of the 15th-century Castello Sforzesco, the runway lit up with an electric lightning bolt, signaling the start of a vibrant, rebellious show that stormed the castle with color, print, and youthful energy.

This season, Versace channeled the carefree spirit of the '90s with a riot of colors in unexpected combinations like yellow, brown, lavender, and baby blue. Casual, high-street-inspired separates dominated, with standout looks like floral slip dresses, zigzag polo sweaters, and colorful tights. For men, it was all about rave-ready ensembles—jeans, sheer floral shirts, and bold leather jackets. Midway through the show, sharp tailoring elevated the collection, including a shrunken baby blue double-breasted blazer and a striking lemon-yellow suit.

Sustainability played a key role in the collection, with Versace reimagining their iconic metal mesh using 3D-printed recycled nylon and accessories crafted from upcycled materials like plastic bottles and cigarette butts. The quirky designs extended to sculptural heels resembling wine glass stems and crystal perfume bottle accents.

Inspired by the Spring 1997 Versus collection, this show was a reminder of simpler times—freedom, happiness, and the power of fashion to spread positivity.
