Comic Fiesta 2022: ACG fans surge after 2-year hiatus

On December 17 and 18, Malaysia’s largest and longest-running animation, comics and games convention, Comic Fiesta (CF) 2022 returned to Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) after a two-year hiatus.

The Comic Fiesta event is host to over 65,000 visitors throughout two days, as well as over 500 creative booth spaces in the convention centre's new halls.

CF vice president Lim Chin Hwa said there is a huge spike in interest in ACG-related events after the pandemic restrictions.

A joint-collaboration with The Government of Japan, Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur and Comic Fiesta took effect to bring over one of Japan's top anime pop stars, Konomi Suzuki.

The Comic Fiesta ended with a night jam of performances by the best of the Malaysian ACG music scene coming together to perform a night concert.

The Crestfall Band, Mystical Mirage band and the Amelia Khor band rocked the Comic Fiesta stage with an energetic closing show by hyping up the ACG audience with iconic ACG music.
