Brompton vs Alps 🇮🇹: Solo Wild Camping | Eurovelo 8 | S1-E22

Описание к видео Brompton vs Alps 🇮🇹: Solo Wild Camping | Eurovelo 8 | S1-E22

In this video, you will join me along an exciting eurovelo 8 bikepacking trip as...

Left Cuneo, a cute town at the foot of the mountains. The road through flat valley was perfect for my loaded. But as I climbed towards Limonetto, everything changed. The road got narrow and stuck between close walls, and there were tons of trucks.

As I kept climbing, clouds started rolling in, and I worried about rain. In Vernante, a village recovering from a flood, the bridge to the water fountain was broken. Luckily, I found another one near the church – a small win!

The road kept going past cement factories, which showed they were fixing things after the flood.

By 4 pm, I still wasn't even close to the top. I had to push my bike and stop every so often to catch my breath. But some Italian drivers were really nice! They honked and gave me thumbs up for trying to climb the mountain with a folding bike.

Reaching Chalet Lemot before sunset was a relief, but it was closed and there was nowhere flat to camp. I had to keep going. I even looked for a spot among ruins, but the wind in the mountains was crazy strong, and I couldn't even put up my tent.

With nowhere else to go, I used just my sleeping bag with bivy and slept next to a traffic light thing at the border crossing. The wind howled all night, and it looked like it might rain. I was scared and couldn't sleep, so I packed up and went down to Chalet de Marmotte to find shelter from the storm that might come.
