Manipur Weeps I "Raped, Tortured, Killed" I Bodies Lie In A Morgue For 3 Months I Barkha Dutt

From Manipur's Kangpokpi Area, we report on the devastating tragedy of two parents, of two daughters, who have been waiting for three months to bring the bodies of their girls home. On the 4th of May, on the same day as the viral video assault that jolted India, elsewhere in the state, two young women, employees at a car wash, were raped, tortured and killed, according to the FIR filed by their families on the 16th of May. Till this date, the police has made no arrests. Forget arrests, no one from the state administration has even made a phone call or sent a message or offered to help in bringing the bodies of their daughters home. Though Imphal is only an hours drive from where Barkha Dutt meets the Father of one young woman and the Mother of Another, they both say they cannot travel to Imphal. "If We do, They Will Kill Us".

The Chief justice of India has summoned the DGP of Manipur to court on Friday to demand action on incidents of sexual violence against women during the Manipur Conflict. After the Mojo Story report, the Second Rape and Murder of Manipur has also come up in court
