India Summons Singapore's Top Diplomat To Protest This Speech on Nehru

During a parliamentary debate, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong invoked India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to argue how democracy should work.

Citing media reports, he further stated that "Nehru’s India has become one where almost half the MPs have criminal charges pending against them, including charges of rape and murder".

As per reports, Singapore High Commissioner has been summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs over comments by PM Lee on criminal charges against India's MPs.
