Synopsis of the Film-
वास्तविकता, कल्पना से कहीं अधिक विचित्र और हैरतअंगेज होती है। "अम्मा " एक ऐसी ही दिल दहना देने वाली सत्यकथा पर आधारित फिल्म है। फिल्मी महानायकों के अब उबाऊ हो चले कारनामों से दूर......अम्मा....एक सीधी सादी साधारण सी औरत की, स्तब्ध कर देने वाले महासमर की अद्भुत गाथा है।
अम्मा जिस औरत की जिन्दगी पर आधारित फिल्म है अगर उससे आप मिलें तो निश्चय ही अवाक् और दंग रह जायेंगे। कुछ क्षणों की मुलाकात में ही वो औरत आपके दिलों दिमाग पर छा जाएगी। हो सकता है आप उससे अत्याधिक घृणा कर बैठे ....या ये भी हो सकता है कि आप उसके प्रति श्रद्धा से भर जाये.......मगर उसे भुला पाएं........ये असम्भव है।
विचित्र औरत है वो...........गजब का है उसका व्यक्तिगत्व, उसका चरित्र ...। वो कब क्या कर बैठेगी और किस हद तक चली जायेगी....ये आम आदमी की कल्पना से बाहर है। उसकी जिन्दगी की एक छोटी सी घटना से आप भी अन्दाजा लगा सकते है.....एक आदमी ने उसके रूपये चुराने की कोशिश की थी। ये रूपये उसकी जीवन भर की पूंजी थी। बारह वर्षो तक अपना जिस्म बेंच-बेंच कर ये रूपये उसने इकट्ठा किए थे ...अपनी बेटी की शादी के लिए......जब उस को चोरी का पता चला उसने सोते हुए चोर की दसों उंगलिया गंडासे से काट डाली थी। वो चोर आज भी अपनी कटी हुई उंगलियां दिखाकर दिल्ली की गलियों में भीख मांगता है।
ऐसा विचित्र और जटिल चरित्र बखूबी जिया है "अम्मा " की नायिका आयशा जुल्का ने। ये औरत ऐसी क्यों हो गयी ?....... कभी वो भी एक गांव की भोली भाली सीधी साधी शर्मीली सी लड़की थी। विवाह के बाद वो शहर आयी ...जिन्दगी की जंग में सब कुछ गंवा चुकने के बाद उसे अचानक महसूस हुआ था कि वो अजेय हो गयी थी। अब उसे कोई हरा नहीं सकता ....क्योंकि हारने के लिए उसके पास अब कुछ बचा ही नहीं था....... मगर ये केवल उसका भ्रम था........ उसकी संजीवनी, उसका जीवन अमृत, अभी शेष था ..... उसकी ममता ...... उसकी बेटी..........कैसी काली अंधेरी रात थी वो .... जब बगल के कमरे से आती तेज-तेज आवाजों से उसकी नींद टूट गयी थी। कांपती आंखो से उसने की-होल से झांक कर देखा था ...और तब उसने वो कर दिखाया .... जो केवल वही वही कर सकती थी।
"अम्मा" कलात्मक और व्यावसायिक फिल्मों का एक बेहतरीन संगम है। इसमें गांव की मिट्टी की सुगंध है, तो शहरों की रंगी चकाचैंध भी। मानवीय सम्बन्धों के काले उजालों की अत्यन्त रहस्यात्मक पर्तो को खोलती ये एक बेहद दिलचस्प, हृदयस्पर्षी, साफ-सुथरी सम्पूर्ण पारिवारिक फिल्म है।

With the miraculous deeds of our reel life super heroes getting stale and indigestible AMMA is a realistic depiction of an ordinary woman’s stunning battle against the horrifying uncertainties of life. If you ever come across this real life character ‘AMMA’ she will leave you speechless and stunned. She will engulf your mind and heart completely, you might hate he or even venerate her but …. you will never be able to forget her. She is utterly unpredictable, one can never tell how she would react to anything, and the extent upto which she can go is beyond one’s realm of imagination.
