Children fall all the time. Worrying about your child's developing brain as a parent is daunting. Angela Beeler, MD, division chief, General Pediatrics/Primary Care at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center, helps put parents' worries to rest by explaining that children over one year old are unlikely to develop serious head injuries from falling. She notes, however, that if your child falls from a height from more than three to five feet or if a child has been knocked unconscious, those are causes for concern and parents should seek a medical evaluation.
