The Hinatuan mine site, also known as the “Tagana-an Nickel Project”, is located in Barangay Talavera, Hinatuan Island, municipality of Tagana-an, provine of Surigao del Norte. Its area of operations is within the Surigao Mineral Reservation. HMC exports saprolite and limonite ore.

The company has endeavored to be a responsible neighbor and contribute to the improvement of the lives of the communities around it not only through job-creation but also through its various environmental and social development programs. HMC was conferred by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) as one of the Regional Awardees of the 2014 Kabalikat Awards (Industry Category) for its “extraordinary efforts to promote and use technical vocational education and training in making an impact on communities and making lives better for the people.”
