Labour Pulls Out Of Negotiations, Rejects FG's N48,000 New Minimum Wage

A minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their employees. In our country, the minimum wage debate is the most contentious one. Members of Organised Labour walked out of the ongoing minimum wage negotiations, after both the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC rejected an offer of 48,000 and 54,000 naira as the minimum wage. The two-some described the offers as ridiculous. Would both the government and labour ever meet somewhere in the middle?
