Train Cab Ride NL / Dordrecht - Duivendrecht - Rotterdam / VIRM Intercity / Aug 2019

Welcome on board to the intercity service from Dordrecht to Duivendrecht and back to Rotterdam! Today you get to see a video from the old train schedule in 2019. It's kind of a stormy day in The Netherlands giving us a little delay around The Hague on our way to Duivendrecht.

At 12.08 we depart perfectly on time from Dordrecht and get to ride our train to Rotterdam Blaak at first. Between Zwijndrecht and Barendrecht you can see the train yard for freight trains on the left. This yard has been called the 'Kijfhoek'.

As soon as we reach The Hague HS we have to wait in front of a red signal just before the station. This is because the train dispatcher allowed on of my coworkers to get a big piece of plastic from the tracks ahead. This gives us a 3 minute delay at arrival in HS. Luckily for us it's not too busy so the train manager can close the doors quickly and we continue our journey within no time. After departure from The Hague Laan van NOI we're back on schedule.

At the end of the this route we make our final stop in Duivendrecht. This is normal on a Sunday. On other days of the week this train continues to Lelystad, but now we take our train to the shunting track at Diemen Zuid to go back to Rotterdam from there.

On our way back to Rotterdam there's a station name plate in our track at departure in Amsterdam Zuid. Another call to the train dispatcher for that. And a little further on the route apparently there's been maintenance on the tracks and they left some pylons next to the track. The train can't hit them, but they're pretty close to the tracks so I make another call to the train dispatcher to have them removed from that location.

The rest of the route is going as planned. Oh and as you might see Delft Zuid has its old name in this video. That's because Delft Campus arrived when the new train schedule in december 2019 was introduced.
