Geology professor Shawn Willsey explains the geology exposed at Shoshone Falls in the Snake River canyon near the city of Twin Falls in southern Idaho. Learn about the Snake River, the falls, and the volcanic rocks (some tied to the Yellowstone hot spot) exposed in the walls of the canyon. This is the first of a two-part video on the area. The second video provides an up close look at the three main rocks that form prominent rock layers in the canyon.
