Georgia Tech quarterback Reggie Ball knew the Yellow Jackets were going to win even though they were down 10 with less than two minutes to go.

He just didn’t know it would take a play that Georgia Tech fans will likely call “The Snap” to set up the winning 11-yard touchdown pass to freshman Calvin Johnson for a 28-24 victory over No. 20 Clemson on Saturday night.

With the clock ticking below 30 seconds, the Tigers (1-1, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) only had to get off a punt from their own 37 to all but seal the game. But Geoff Rigsby’s snap never got up in the air, skipping past punter Cole Chason, who just fell on it at the Tigers’ 11.

The Yellow Jackets (2-0, 1-0) hustled their offense on the field, with coach Chan Gailey telling them to get the ball to 6-foot-4 Johnson.

The freshman took off to the left sideline just over the goal line and leaped over Justin Miller for his second touchdown catch of the game with 11 seconds to go.
