BBC News Channel Countdown (2023 - April) Filler - Video - 60 minute SD version!

Описание к видео BBC News Channel Countdown (2023 - April) Filler - Video - 60 minute SD version!

On Monday the 3rd of April 2023 at 9am, the BBC relaunched the BBC News Channel/BBC World as a single news channel. The UK channel which had been running since the 9th of November 1997 was no more. This is primarily due to the unique way that the BBC is funded (the licence fee) and a UK Conservative government that hates the BBC and always tries to punish it for doing what it is supposed to do - provide a balanced news service that will tell the truth, without fear or favour.

As a result of the relaunched service, quite a few of the old faces that the UK audience have known for many years have left - so that means a new filler and set of countdowns had to be created. This new filler is about 80% new material, with a few shots that are reused from previous fillers from over the last few years. The new look filler also contains the new BBC branding (which I think looks ridiculous) having the BBC logo blocks at the top of the screen and the word "NEWS" at the bottom. All BBC channels now feature this ridiculous branding style.

Because the new combined news service has periods where the UK audience opts-out for it's own programmes (The 1, the 6 and the 10) the "filler" is now seen much more regularly, where previously it used to be seen mainly just at weekends when a news bulletin was scheduled to be simulcast on BBC One. You will quite often see the filler after the opted-out programme has ended and the UK audience are waiting to rejoin the rest of the world on their scheduled BBC News programme.

While most of the footage in the filler is new, the music used in the filler is the same music, written by David Lowe that the news channel has been using since 2013.

This 60 minute version of the filler is in standard definition, but there is also a 10 minute full 1080p HD version of the filler which can be found on the link below as well as the new April 2023 version of the 90 second countdown with the on-screen timer, along with all the previous versions of the filler countdown that have been in use by the BBC at various points since 2013 (as well as some other assorted videos).
