Bangdyachi Uddamethi
Bangdyachi Uddamethi is a delicious Goan curry that has a unique taste because of the use of urad dal & fenugreek seeds used in it. The word uddamethi comes from two words- Udda (Urad Dal) and methi (fenugreek seeds). Bangdyachi curry and Uddamethi give a different taste.

ingredients:
Mackerel: 3 big cleaned and cut into small pieces
Onion: 2 small
Grated Coconut: 1 cup
Fenugreek (Methi) seeds: 3/4 tsp
Urad Dal: 3/4 tsp
Rice: 2 spoon
Turmeric Powder: 1 tsp
Chilli: 10
Salt: to taste
Method of Preparation:
Apply salt on mackerel and keep aside.
Roast Urad dal, methi, and rice and crush it.
Apply crush powder on Mackerel and keep it for 5 minute
Add two spoonfuls of oil, add one chopped onion in the pan and stir fry till it changes color to brownish.
Add the grated coconut and fry till golden brown. Add chilies in it ( if u want spicy add more chilies)after frying chilies add a little turmeric powder stir it for 2, 3 minutes, and grind it.
Add a little oil in the same pan and stir fry 1/4 tsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp methi seeds, and chopped onion, once onion becomes brown add paste of coconut and onion and put some water accordingly for a curry.
After boiling curry, put mackerel. Once it is cook add kokum, salt, and tirfal
Close the lid and bring it to a boil. You may need to add an additional 1/2 cup of water if the curry looks too dry.
