OCR World Championships 3k Full Race September 23, 2022

I remember once when the short course used to be my strong race. This one was rough! It was cold and we were in the starting corral for 45 minutes before being able to start. So my heavy breathing is even worse this time around! I really wish they wouldn't just jam all of the waves that aren't 20's or 30's in the same time slot. It's a HUGE group, which leads to backups, which leads to results that don't really make sense. Some people did La Gaffe, some people ran by it. Same with Twist on Life. This is my one complaint about the weekend. I feel like our group is an afterthought for the 3k. I hope they can fix this because it was the same last year.
Anyways, this race had the highest climb I can remember for a 3k and it was definitely challenging! The cold made me question my grip (tip: If you get Blegg mitts, don't get a size that is so tight on your wrist that your hands end up as numb as they would if they are cold) so I had to play it safe on the obstacles. Overall, it was the hardest 3k course I've done, so that's a plus for sure!
