Miss Hamilton 2023 - Cláirseach solo - Cornelius Lyons

The first time I came across "Miss Hamilton" was, when Thijs van Leer played it for me, while we were preparing our Christmas-record with Tato Gomez back in 2002.
I forgot about it, but later I learned the tune from "O'Neill's Music Of Ireland" and made an arrangement, which I recorded for my 2007 album "Stille Wasser":

This is basically the same arrangement, only played on my "new" Buxe Kleiner harp and with a little Alap, which I played to get into the right mood and later decided to keep in the video, because it turned out to be nice.

"Miss Hamilton" is the only composition by Cornelius Lyons (c. 1670 – c. 1740) to have survived. I quote Wikipedia here: "However Lyons wrote variations on existing tunes of which five have survived, including "The Coolin" and "Slieve Gallen". "Miss Hamilton" was written in 1706."
