Keep Chef Patrick Cookin' (A Fundraiser for Patrick Delay)

Patrick’s Mom, Mary Jennings Delay, known by many as Mother Mary, owner of Healing Oasis in Long Beach is a giving, caring and charitable individual: a simply beautiful human being. She is always there for her friends and community. Often caught in random acts of kindness.

Life can change in an instant... This year, Mary’s family has taken a lot of hits.

Mary’s son Patrick was born with one kidney that was not operating properly. He grew up needing constant medical treatment and specialized dieting but as he grew into adulthood his kidney could no longer sustain him, he needed a kidney transplant, unfortunately months ago Patrick’s body started rejecting that kidney that was donated by Mary more than a decade ago. He’s been in and out of the hospital, an ordeal that would crumble a less courageous young man. Simultaneously, Patrick’s
dad, Dennis Delay took a fall walking the family dogs, hitting his head on the concrete. He has been in & out of hospitals and rehab facilities grappling with brain injuries sustained. The family are fighters, but it is a long road to recovery.

As a talented burgeoning young man working his way to Executive chef at 29, it is financially and emotionally burdensome for Patrick to be unable to resume his day to day life’s work in Florida.

Patrick is stuck in a nightmare of debilitating treatments, restrictions, medical red tape, and insurance mazes just to arrive at the inevitable: At 30 years old Patrick will be needing another kidney transplant. First, months of dialysis and the search for a viable kidney donor. 

They say God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, that’s because we aren’t meant to handle such circumstances alone. Please help us assist Patrick.

Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated to lighten Patrick’s burden of the medical expenses and give him the ability to concentrate on recovery.

Also, anyone that is willing and able to be tested to find a match for a kidney transplant, would answer our prayers. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide during these trying times.
