AL811 AL811H Meter Switch

Jumping plate current, often showing as high erratic plate current without regard to actual operating condition, is often a "dirty" Ip/HV meter switch. This problem occurs because the switch is used at a very low current and voltage, allowing the contacts to build a film. This problem is aggravated when the protective grease in the switch dries out and fails to keep air and moisture off the contacts.

DO NOT use CRC or drying cleaners, and especially avoid flushing cleaners. The goal is to wet the grease and the switch insides and polish the contacts.

DO NOT do this to power switches, it is only good on low current low voltage switch contacts! If a power switch is erratic, it must be changed. Not at all so with the meter and standby switch, changing them is foolish.
