Second round of the 1996 500cc Motorcycle Grand Prix Season. This GP is an example of your typical Mick Doohan lights-to-flag victory, a common sight in the mid to late 1990's. This was the first of two Indonesian GPs held at the Sentul International Circuit in Indonesia. The Indonesian Motorcycle Grand Prix is due to make a return in 2021 at the Mandalika Street Circuit, located in the province of West Nusa Tenggara.
