-------------------------------------------------DESCRIPTION-------------------------------------------------

A flawed game from my childhood, but one I have a bit of nostalgia for. The only way to get the Judge Dredd Rating on the Smokatorium level is to arrest random bystanders for petty things (Owning a Gerbil without a licence). The rapid-fire mode from the Lawbringer is good for shooting weapons out of Perps' hands so you can arrest them. Its damage is quite pitiful, so it should only be used for non-lethal takedowns. The laser guns are not great. The pistol has poor accuracy and the rifle requires an age to charge out. Given how sporadic enemy movement is, it is very easy to miss and just completely waste your shot.

Your Tear gas grenades are good at incapacitating enemies that will not surrender. The taggers in Mission 1 for instance, will only surrender when a certain amount of them are dead, so the Grenades can force a surrender. You only get 3 however, and they take a long time to go off, giving enemies plenty of time to run away. They are not the most reliable, but you can increase the chance of a successful takedown by shooting them in their legs with a lower-power weapon (machine guns), to activate stun animations and try to keep them in place.

As an older game, some of the movement is a bit janky. If you move forward whilst also moving to the side, you run considerably faster. You can use this to your advantage to outrun Vampires and other threats that would normally catch up to you. In fact, provided you don't get yourself cornered in one of the more claustrophobic areas of some maps, it is easy to run laps around melee enemies. Vampires become a cakewalk, making ranged enemies your true bane. Although you do need to be on point. Melee attacks will absolutely decimate your health if you let them.

I was too young to appreciate some of the dark satire when I was younger. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the jokes coming back, although it milks it a bit too far at places, such as civilians in the Mega Mall screaming 'Get me out of this capitalist hell-hole'. I would like to think that no one in the real world talks like that, but then I remember the far left exists. Ahead of its time really.
